Hara Bhara Kebab

This happens to be one of the most loved vegetarian kebabs in Indian restaurants all over the world. And it’s healthy too! Loads of spinach and peas! Green Goodness! It is a perfect appetiser to make ahead of time if you are throwing a party. The vegetarians and health freaks are going to thank you! These guilt-free kebabs are perfect with a cup of warm masala tea.

Hara Bhara Kebab

Ingredients

  • 2 cups Spinach
  • 3/4 cup Peas
  • 2 medium sized Potato
  • 1/2 cup Paneer optional, crumbled
  • 1 tsp Ginger minced
  • 2 Green chilli minced
  • 2 tbsp Chickpea Flour
  • 1 tsp Amchur powder
  • 1 tsp Garam Masala
  • Salt
  • Oil

Instructions

  1. Cook the potatoes and peas in a pressure cooker.
  2. Wash and clean the spinach leaves and cook it in a pan on medium heat with no water until the leaves wilt and reduce in volume.
  3. Drain the water from the pressure cooker and mash and potatoes separately
  4. Add the cooked peas, ginger, chilli, spinach and grind it form a smooth paste.
  5. Add this to the mashed potatoes along with the crumbled paneer,garam masala, besan powder, salt and amchur powder.
  6. Lightly oil your hands and take a lemon sized ball from the mixture and pat it down to form a small disc.
  7. Add about a 2 tbsp of oil in a pan and fry the kebabs on medium low flame until brown on both sides. Serve warm!
