Whether you like a Naples approved wood fire pizza or a New York style pizza, the base has to be perfect. This is my go to Pizza dough recipe! Fool proof! Comes out perfect every single time! I usually make a couple of medium sized dough balls and freeze them. That way when I am too tired to cook, just thaw the dough ball and add your favourite toppings and bake! Go on! Put those anchovies on there. I’ll look the other way! I am not going to judge anyone for their topping choices! For me, pizza happens to be a round of possibilities waiting to be topped with anything your heart desires. I am the kinda of person who would love anything on my pizza! Leftover chicken from the casserole dinner, mushrooms from the breakfast omelette or be it leftover pineapple… ooh boy! Yes, literally anything!
Perfect Pizza Dough
- 3&1/2 cups All-purpose Flour
- 2 tsp Salt
- 1 tsp Sugar
- 1&1/3 cups Warm water
- 1 envelope Active dry yeast 14gms
- 2 tbsp Extra virgin olive oil
Add the yeast and sugar to the warm water (105-110 degree Fahrenheit)and keep it aside for 2 mins. You will see bubbles or foam, which indicates that the yeast is active.
In a large bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, salt and olive oil. To this, slowly add the yeast mixture.
Knead with your hands until well combined.
Place this dough ball in a well-oiled bowl and cover this with cling wrap.
Place this bowl in a warm, draft-free area (for me, the microwave (turned off works best)for 2 to 3 hours or until the dough has doubled in volume.
Gently punch down the dough, divide into balls and roll out the pizza dough on a well-floured surface to your liking.
